MK Dons wasted no time securing a bright start to the game, with their opening goal coming after just four minutes.

The away side bombed forward in numbers and won a corner for their efforts.

The delivery from Shaun Williams was a good one, and Dean Lewington stabbed a low shot towards the target.

Armand Traore was unlucky to get the final touch as the opener went down as an own goal.

Minutes later, the Dons' bright start almost became even more unbelievable as striker Ryan Lowe was denied a goal after a shot out of nowhere was blocked, but he didn't need to wait too much longer before seeing his name up in lights.

After the 40 minute mark, the frontman latched onto a ball over the top of the QPR defence and made no mistake firing a shot past the helpless Rob Green.

The second half saw the same pattern continue from both sides, with QPR failing to mount any sort of resistance in the face of Dons pressure.

Ryan Harley, on as a sub, was teed up by Lowe after the striker sprung the flimsy QPR offside trap, and the Dons man made no mistake firing past Green.

Just five minutes later, Darren Potter joined the party, pouncing on some horrendous defending from the home side to rifle the ball home.

With QPR fans streaming out of the stadium as the final whistle grew nearer, there weren't many supporters left to see Jay Bothroyd's headed goal, which came from a Bobby Zamora cross, or Fabio Da Silva's late effort, which came after ghosting in at the far post to turn in a Bothroyd cross.

That was all QPR had to show today, though, for their efforts, which were in the end utterly surpassed by those of MK Dons.
