The Royals have been on a good run in both the Premier League and the FA Cup, winning four of their last five, following a run of eight games without a win.

Reading beat Crawley Town by a convincing 3-1 scoreline in the previous round of the competition to set up this tie against the Blades.

Jason Roberts (hip) and Alex McCarthy (shoulder) are still out injured, while Hope Akpan is cup-tied having played against the Royals for Crawley prior to his transfer.

Jem Karacan is expected to be available for the match despite picking up a knock against Newcastle United last Saturday. Adam Le Fondre is set to continue in the side after his match-winning brace against the Magpies.

Meanwhile, Danny Wilson's men have only won a single match in their last five in all competitions, coincidentally that was the FA Cup Third Round tie against Oxford United at the beginning of January.

Neill Collins has made his return to training following the surgery on a triple fracture of his cheekbone on Boxing Day last year, while goalkeeper Mark Howard is also closing in on fitness. However, neither are expected to be fit for the Royals clash.

Chris Porter is in line to make his return to the side after recovering from a hip problem, but Matt Hill (broken jaw) and Shaun Miller (knee) are not expected to be back for a while still.
