The Latics needed a replay to overcome League Two outfit Bournemouth and Roberto Martinez will surely hope his side can put in a better performance against the Silkmen.

If they are to progress to the fifth round, they will have to do it without a number of regular first team players as they continue to endure somewhat of an injury crisis.

Ivan Ramis (ACL), Antolin Alcaraz (groin), Mike Pollitt (thigh), Adrian Lopez (hamstring), Ryo Miyaichi (ankle). Ben Watson (broken leg) and Albert Crusat (knee) are all enduring long spells on the sidelines.

To compound matters, striker Aruna Kone is away at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.

However, they do have some proven talent at their disposal, with Franco Di Santo leading the line and on-loan Manchester United winger Angelo Henriquez likely to slot Kone's spot in the starting line-up, the Latics should have more than enough to cause the non-league side some problems.

Roger Espinoza is also likely to start after making his debut in the replay win over the Cherries.

Meanwhile, Steve King's side earned passage into the fourth round after a deserved 2-1 win over Championship side Cardiff City and a win over Wigan would be a massive achievement for the Cheshire based club.

Pablo Mills will be unavailable for the clash, after his appeal against his red card in the 1-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers was unsuccessful, as will Stefan Payne after he played for Sutton United in a previous round.

Carl Martin, though, may be available after recovering from the injury that kept him out of the visit of the Harriers.
