The midfielder's future has been the subject of much speculation, with the Dutchman linked in the past to Manchester United and more recently Liverpool.

However, the Premier League will have to do without the former Real Madrid man for the meantime after he signed what is thought to be a three-and-half year contract with the Istanbul outfit.

"It will be amazing and the atmosphere will be nice," Sneijder told the club's official website.

"I can't wait to go there and play my first game.

"I will make the Galatasaray fans very proud and very happy. I'm looking forward to meeting them and making a good life together," he added.

Sneijder joined Inter in 2009 and played a key role in the Nerazzurri winning the Serie A title, UEFA Champions League and Italian Cup in his first season with the club.

However, he had not played for Inter since late September after being told he would need to take a significant pay cut to remain at the San Siro.
