Many would have expected Swansea to have their minds on the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg with Chelsea that they face in midweek, but Michael Laudrup selected a strong side for the visit of Stoke City.

The Potters have been leaking goals lately and they looked to be struggling for confidence after the hammering they took from Chelsea last weekend.

Swansea had chances to capitalise in a pretty dour first half which was punctuated by missed chances from Pablo Hernandez and Michu.

However, the game came to life in the second half after a 49th-minute strike from left-back Ben Davies gave the Swans a deserved lead.

The full-back strode purposefully into the box and drove a low shot beyond the reach of Asmir Begovic.

It then became the Jonathan De Guzman show as the midfielder curled a free-kick over the wall and into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box just before the hour mark.

Then, with just ten minutes left on the clock, he secured his second of the afternoon with a cool finish after being set clear by a delightul Danny Graham flick.

Michael Owen scored his 150th Premier League career goal to give the visitors a consolation in injury time but it was a performance low on quality from the Potters.
