The 23-year-old former AC Milan forward is being chased by both Manchester clubs, while Newcastle had hoped he would replace Demba Ba on Tyneside.
A France U-21 international, who has gone on to pick up 26 caps, scoring eight goals for The Panthers, Aubameyang also has offers from Italy, but insists he won't leave his side in the lurch mid-season.
His eight goals in Ligue 1 have helped St Etienne to 10th-place after 20 games this campaign.
"I want to leave with everyone happy," he told French magazine Vert Foot.
"I will not leave in this January window.
"There is contact with the two Manchester clubs and also clubs in Italy, especially Fiorentina and another big Italian club."
