The Hoops remain bottom of the Premier League standings but have made massive strides under Harry Redknapp, the former Spurs boss guiding his new side to three draws and a win in his first four games.

Three losses on the trot were to follow but they come into this tie on the back a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the league and a creditable draw with West Brom in the FA Cup.

Spurs, meanwhile, under Andre Villas-Boas continue to go from strength to strength and are unbeaten in their last six matches, including a 3-0 win over Coventry in the FA Cup last time out.

They currently occupy third place in the standings, six points adrift of Manchester City and one point clear of Chelsea but having played a game more.

Leading up to the match, Redknapp will assess the fitness of Esteban Granero and Junior Hoilett who both are struggling with tight hamstrings.

But Tal Ben Haim could make his league debut after coming through the West Brom clash unscathed.

Villas-Boas has a near fully-fit squad to choose from with only William Gallas (calf) and Younes Kaboul (knee) long-term absentees.
