The Royals are unbeaten in their last two home games, but the win at home against West Ham is their only win in the last five.

Brian McDermott's men are second from bottom in the standings, but are level on points with last-placed Queen's Park Rangers.

Hal Robson-Kanu and Mikele Leigertwood are doubtful, while Jason Roberts (hip) and Alex McCarthy (shoulder) are expected to be out for a lengthy period.

McDermott could also hand new signings Daniel Carrico and Hope Akpan their debuts at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Steve Clarke's side have lost five of their last eight games in the top flight, winning just two in that stretch.

Midfielder Zoltan Gera will be out for the rest of the season, after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligaments in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with QPR.

However, winger Jerome Thomas is back in contention after returning from his loan spell at Leeds and is expected to replace Gera in the lineup.

The Baggies will also be without midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu, who is on Africa Cup of Nations duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Steven Ried (calf), Jonas Olsson (groin) and Goran Popov (hamstring) remain sidelined.
