Both teams have been in torrid form, with the Canaries on a four-match losing streak in the league. They now occupy 12th position in the standings, five points above their opposition on the weekend.

The Magpies' form has been similarly bad, managing just a single win, against lowly QPR, in their last five, notching up four losses on that run.

On the team front, Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy is still out with a hip injury, leaving Mark Bunn to deputise between the sticks, while Bradley Johnson returns from suspension.

Andrew Surman (knee), Steven Whittaker (hip) and Steve Morison (thigh) are all out of contention, however, Grant Holt could return to the side after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Jonny Howson will be handed a late fitness test after suffering with illness during the week.

Toon's injury woes have been well documented and the case is the same for the trip to Norfolk, with Danny Simpson (foot), Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring) and Ryan Taylor (knee) out for the long haul.

While Yohan Cabaye and Steven Taylor are nearing their return, the Canaries match comes too soon for the duo. Papiss Cisse is set to start in place of Shola Ameobi, who incurred a one-match ban in the FA Cup loss to Brighton.

New signing Mathieu Debuchy is in line to make his debut, with Simpson's injury leaving Alan Pardew no time to ease the Frenchman into English football.
