The Gunners bossed the first-half but failed to create any real clear cut chances, although Santi Cazorla fired over the bar and saw a weak effort easily saved by Michel Vorm.

The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell to the home side but former Arsenal defender Kyle Bartley hit the woodwork with his headed effort.

Arsene Wenger's men showed more intent in the opening stages of the second period and Frenchman Olivier Giroud was twice denied by Vorm after the restart.

However, it was Swansea who took the lead on 58 minutes when substitute Michu poked the ball beyond Wojciech Szczesny after beating Per Mertesacker, having been on the pitch for less than two minutes.

Arsenal continued to press for an equaliser and on 75 minutes, a Ben Davies mistake gave Theo Walcott a sight of goal but the England international dragged his effort wide from a tight angle.

The Gunners did grab a deserved equaliser though on 81 minutes through substitute Lukas Podolski as Swansea struggled to clear a deep corner from Walcott and the German forward reacted sharply on the turn to level the scores.

Things got even better for Arsenal moments later when Gibbs and Olivier Giroud linked up well with the Frenchman chipping the ball into the full-backs path and he slammed into the roof of the net.

Swansea responded almost instantly, however, with Graham restoring parity with a neat finish at the near post from a corner on 86 minutes.

There was time for more drama and Vorm produced a fantastic save to deny Laurent Koscielny from another set-piece, and Dwight Tiendalli fired into the side netting after Graham had put him through on goal but neither side could find a winner.
