The 33-year-old will make his first start for the Potters in Saturday's FA Cup third round clash at Crystal Palace.
A combination of injuries and the form of his team-mates has kept Owen sidelined and he may be ready for a new challenge away from the Premier League after previously admitting he would not consider dropping down a division in England.
Owen joined on a one-year contract in September after being released by Manchester United.
A Perth Glory spokesperson told the West Australian newspaper: "Michael Owen's agent has enquired about Michael playing in the A-League.
"Perth Glory are interested but are yet to find out Michael's terms and conditions.
"Until these are known, Perth Glory will not enter any further negotiations."
Perth Glory are looking to fill an international player position in their squad with former St Mirren striker Billy Mehmet set to join Thai club Bangkok Glass.
