Ba: No problem for Torres

Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is adamant that the arrival of Demba Ba at Stamford Bridge will not be a problem for fellow striker Fernando Torres.

Torres previously had difficulties earning his place in the Blues side when Didier Drogba was still first choice to lead the Chelsea front line.

And the acquisition of Ba from Newcastle United has raised fears that a similar situation might arise.

With Benitez pondering whether to hand the Senegalese forward his debut in the FA Cup tie against Southampton, the 52-year-old dismissed any notion that Torres might be unhappy with added competition for the striker's position.

"He will be happy with good players around. The question is how many, and which names?" he said.

"Demba Ba is a good option for us. We can manage both and it will be good for the team in the end. I was talking with Torres in the last couple of weeks and he said we needed more bodies."

The former Liverpool boss hinted that he might utilise both strikers at the same time in a 4-4-2, and insisted that he was happy with just the two forwards.

"The main thing for me now is to manage the two strikers that we have," he added.

"I'm really pleased with this situation, as we before had only had one.

"Two strikers should be enough for us, as we have other players around who can contribute."
