The hosts have been on a good run of form, winning three matches in their last five. The Stags are in ninth place on the table and are just four points adrift from a playoff position.

Mansfield needed two replays to reach the third round, beating Slough on penalties and Lincoln 2-1 in the replay at home.

Stags key players Jake Speight, Matt Green and Anthony Howell are all expected to be fit for the clash at the One Call Stadium, while winger Louis Briscoe is also gearing up for the visit from the storied Reds.

"My biggest game so far was the FA Trophy Final [Mansfield vs Darlington, 2011] when we didn't turn up, but it was a great occasion. But this is a bigger game and we're not expected to win it," the winger told

"Anything that we do well against Liverpool will be a bonus. There's virtually no pressure at all as we're playing against one of the best, and one of the biggest, teams in the world.

"The pressure is all on them and they're going to want to win the same as us. They are a huge football club, coming to little old Mansfield and it's going to be a tough ride for them."

However, the visitors' form in the Premier League seem to be picking up. The Reds have also won three in five, but have scored 10 goals and kept three clean sheets in those victories. Their last two outings came against QPR and Sunderland, duly dispatching both sides 3-0.

The Merseyside outfit are slowly marching up the Premier League table and are currently holding down eighth position.

Several fringe and youth players are expected to be fielded by the Premier League giants on Sunday, as Brendan Rodgers might feel the need to rest a few of his star performers for the visit to Nottinghamshire.

Brad Jones could be asked to take the place of Pepe Reina, while Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson might also be rested for the big derby against Manchester United next week.

New acquisition Daniel Sturridge could make his first appearance for the club, but Rodgers confirmed that the player is still recovering from an injury sustained while at Chelsea.
