The west London giants have failed to beat the Saints in the FA Cup in seven attempts, losing four and drawing the remaining three, although current form dictates that Chelsea will be the undoubted favourites for the win at the weekend.

Chelsea have lost three in their last 10 in all competitions, winning all the rest, while Nigel Adkins' men have won just three in their last 10 fixtures. The Saints are currently on a four match winless streak.

Rafa Benitez's side did, however, suffer a shock home defeat to Premier League strugglers Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday, something the Spaniard will be keen to atone for on Saturday.

Southampton's last outing, on the other hand, came against Arsenal on New Year's Day, and they might feel a little unlucky not to have left with all three points.

Rickie Lambert could be set for a well-earned rest and 18-year-old James Ward-Prose is waiting in the wings for his chance to impress.

Adam Lallana remains the only injury concern for the hosts. Nathaniel Clyne will be handed a late fitness test as he makes his return from a knee injury.

Petr Cech (groin) is still missing with through injury, as are John Terry and Oriol Romeu, both out with knee complaints.
