The Serbia international made only his second start for United since his three-month injury lay-off in the 2-0 win over West Brom at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Vidic helped the Red Devils record just their fourth clean sheet of the season as they maintained a seven-point lead over neighbours Manchester City at the Premier League summit.
But even though the 31-year-old centre-back admits he is happy to be back in action, he has stressed the importance of not rushing things in order to avoid a recurrence of his knee problems.
Vidic told MUTV: "The doctor is managing the games I am playing at the moment. Over the first two or three months I have to really look at that because sometimes I might have a reaction. This is a process I have to go through.
"I am glad I have managed to play after three months. It is nice to be on the pitch and playing games. Hopefully I can play more often so I can build my form and play better."
