Villa have conceded 12 goals in their last two games and Paul Lambert will be hoping his captain Ron Vlaar will be available for Saturday's game, having missed Villa's last seven matches through injury.

Winger Charles N'Zogbia is unlikely to feature against his former club, the Frenchman having been out with a knee injury, while Gabriel Agbonlahor (hip), Nathan Baker (hamstring) and Andreas Weimann (calf) are all doubts.

Darren Bent (hamstring), Gary Gardner (knee), Richard Dunne (groin) and Stiliyan Petrov (leukemia) are all still long-term absentees, while Fabian Delph is suspended.

After five losses in their last six games, Roberto Martinez's Wigan find themselves in the relegation zone, but a win on Saturday will take them level on points with their upcoming opponents.

Martinez is hopeful defender Antolin Alcaraz (groin) will return to the side, while Adrian Lopez (hamstring) and James McCarthy (ankle) are still missing through injury.

The Latics' away record has not been impressive this season, having drawn one, lost seven and won just two on the road, while the Villans have scored the least amount of goals in the Premier League with 15 goals so far this season.
