The Welshman has missed his side's last three games with the knock but is set to make a welcome return to starting line-up this weekend.

Scott Parker could get a run-out having featured for the Spurs' under-21 side in the week. This could mark a long-awaited return for the England international who had achilles surgery back in August.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekotto will undergo late fitness tests on their respective hamstring and knee injuries.

Younes Kaboul (knee) is sidelined but manager Andre-Villas Boas will be boosted by the timely return of Michael Dawson from his hamstring niggle.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis will be without goalscoring midfielder Charlie Adam, who has been granted compassionate leave following the death of his father.

Ryan Shotton returns from his one-match suspension, but Michael Owen should be sidelined once again as he continues to be plagued by injuries.

Spurs are on a good run of form, having won their last two league games - 2-1 at Everton and 1-0 at home to Swansea but will need to show their robustness to overcome their opposition's physical approach.
