The Brazil international has been linked with a return to his homeland after recently expressing his displeasure at a lack of first-team opportunities with the Rossoneri this season.
Pato is reported to be the subject of a €15million bid from Corinthians, and his agent, Gilmar Veloz, has admitted the 23-year-old striker would welcome a move to the Sao Paulo giants.
Galliani also revealed that Robinho has asked to return home, with Santos keen to bring him back to the club where he started his career.
The Milan chief, though, will do his utmost to convince the Samba star to remain at the San Siro, but could be facing a losing battle.
He told Milan Channel: "An offer has arrived for Pato. Basically, in defence and midfield we will not be signing anyone and if Pato and Robinho remain - or if only one leaves - then we won't bring in any replacements.
"We believe the right number of strikers to have is five, as if two new ones arrive, then there won't be space for M'Baye Niang. We're doing everything to keep hold of Robinho, although I am not certain that we'll succeed.
"He is happy to stay here and has a wonderful rapport with the coach and team but his wife and children want the beaches of Santos. I hope to convince him to stay here, though he is virulently asking to leave Milan and go back home."
Meanwhile, Veloz told ESPN: "If there is this possibility then it will be a very important step for his career to go and play for a two-time world champion club. To come and work here can make things easier for him and we hope that something can be done.
"We need to stay calm as we are talking about Milan and Corinthians, two of the biggest clubs in the world. There is great respect and affection between the two outfits, but there is nothing official at this stage."
