Rangel is recovering from a calf strain picked up in training prior to the Swans' defeat to Tottenham earlier this month, while Michel Vorm and Pablo Hernandez are also in a race against time to be fit for the clash at the Liberty Stadium.

The Spaniard is relishing the clash against the Red Devils and has revealed it has given him extra motivation in his recovery.

"I would love to be ready for Sunday - everybody wants to play against Manchester United," the 30-year-old told the Daily Mirror.

"The recovery is going well and the calf is much better."

Rangel also reflected on how his side needs to improve on last season's showing against the current league leaders.

"United were very well organised last year and didn't let us play our own game. They didn't have many chances, but were very clinical. We have to be faultless," he said.
