Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is believed to have earmarked Remy as a potential replacement for Demba Ba, who is being heavily linked with a move away from St James' Park.
And Remy has admitted he is a fan of the Toon army, their supporters and the general atmosphere pervading the club.
"Newcastle are a very good team, they are a big club with good players, very good fans and a nice stadium that is always full," the 25-year-old is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
"The window opens in January, and there will be speculation from now until the window closes - if I have to leave then all parties must be happy. I have a contract so let's wait and see what happens."
