The former Inter Milan centre-back joined the Bianconeri as a free agent in the off-season, but has failed to make an impact, making just four competitive appearances for the club.

The former Brazil international received an Italian Super Cup winner's medal, though, after he played 120 minutes in the extra-time win over Napoli in July.

A statement on Juve's official website read: "Lucio's adventure at Juventus is finished. Juventus and the Brazil defender have reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract of the player."

Although injury hampered his chances with the Italian giants, the 34-year-old is keen to move on from a frustrating time in Turin.

"At Juventus I am not happy because I do not play," he told German newspaper Bild recently.

"The last few months have been very difficult because of the injury and the lack of consideration from the coach.

"I hope to find a team that allows me to play with some continuity."
