The home side dominated the first 30 minutes and should have been ahead early on, when Jamie Mackie shot wide when he went clean through on goal after a horrendous back pass from John Arne Riise.

Harry Redknapp's side took the lead in the 52nd minute, when the impressive Taarabt tried his luck from 20 yards and seeing his shot take a massive deflection off Brede Hangeland to beat Mark Schwarzer.

There was no luck about his second goal though as he glided past a couple of the away side defenders, before bending a beautiful shot into the bottom corner of the goal with the outside of his right boot.

Fulham who were disappointing throughout, briefly threatened a fightback with a couple of minutes to go, when sub Mladen Petric's 30 yard shot took a deflection and looped over the head of Rob Green and into the net.

QPR comfortably held on as they earned their first three points in an important win as they look to try and escape the relegation zone.
