The Turkish international joined the Reds on a one-year loan deal in the off-season from Spanish giants Real Madrid after failing to make an impact in a Los Blancos midfield containing Xabi Alonso, Sami Kedhira and Mesut Ozil.
Sahin has made 12 appearances under Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, scoring three times for his new temporary club.
The Turk revealed that he was surprised at the quality of teams in the Premier League.
"It's a very tough league and every team has their own style. I have never played in games such as the ones against Stoke and Everton before," the former Borussia Dortmund champion told Liverpool's official website.
"That is probably the thing that has surprised me most but also makes me happy because it's a very tough league and every team has its own story."
He also reiterated that it was Rodgers' football philosophy that drew him to Merseyside, even though he has been utilized in a more attacking role.
"I'm not the kind of player who can play in a long-ball side. The way that Brendan wants to play is one I'm comfortable with," he explained.
"I've played my whole career deeper and that's my position. But I have also played as a No.10 here. It was new for me but I tried to help the team and do my best."
"But if I could choose a position it would be holding as I feel more comfortable playing deeper," he concluded.
