The Manchester United boss this week claimed that City win too many penalties at home, saying "there'd be an inquiry in the House of Commons" if his side were awarded as many spot-kicks.

And in response, Mancini vented his anger towards United winger Ashley Young.

He said: "I remember very well last year, when Young went swimming in the...I think four or five times in the last 10 games, and then Ferguson didn't say anything, but this can happen."

Young had been heavily criticised for the penalties he won against QPR and Aston Villa last season.

And if the stats are anything to go by, then Mancini may have a point, despite popular opinion that it is United who have a penchant for winning spot-kicks at home.

City have won 20 penalties at home, compared to Manchester United's 13, since the start of the 2010-11 season.

Fergie, who labeled City "the noisy neighbours", responded by adding: "They're screaming now. It's great. Challenges are what we're made of.

"I've been lucky that, in my time here, I've been involved with great competitions against teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and now City.

"There are no dull moments. We don't run from challenges."
