The Cottagers, who welcome back captain Brede Hangeland following his three-match ban after his dismissal in the 3-1 loss to Sunderland, held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw prior to their heavy defeat in the London derby.

They currently occupy lowly 13th place with 17 points from 15 games.

Newcastle, meanwhile, in 14th place, also with 17 points from 15 games, rediscovered some form with a 3-0 hammering of Wigan - the Latics playing the majority of the game with ten men.

They did lose 2-0 to Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday, although the result didn't affect their qualification to the knockout round - boss Alan Pardew having made a number of changes to his side ahead of this weekend's Premier League tie.

Pardew is expecting to have David Santon (groin), Cheick Tiote, Hatem Ben Arfa (both hamstring), Gabriel Obertan (toe), Demba Ba (also hamstring) and Jonas Gutierrez (knee) available after their recent complaints.

But Steven Taylor (hamstring) and Yohan Cabaye (groin surgery) remain sidelined.

Fulham boss Martin Jol, meanwhile, has Alex Kacaniklic back in contention after he overcame a hamstring injury but Bryan Ruiz remains sidelined with a hamstring injury of his own.

Sascha Riether picked up a minor knee sprain but is expected to be available to play on Monday.
