The Brazilian had just forced his way into the starting XI and was in good form, starting the last two matches against West Ham and the Royals, scoring at the Madejski Stadium.
Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that Anderson, who limped off the field at the end of the first half, will be sidelined for a short spell.
"It's a hamstring unfortunately. He'll be out for a few weeks," Ferguson told MUTV.
"He's been playing really well and scored a great goal. I'm very disappointed for him."
