The 28-year-old Dutch international had been sidelined for two months with injury but is once again available for selection having returned to full fitness.
But Italian club's director Marco Branca announced earlier in the week Sneijder would not play for I Nerazzurri again until he agreed to a new deal despite his current contract only coming to an end in June 2015.
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni revealed Sneijder would be considered for selection like any other player this weekend but he has in fact been left out of the squad to face Torino.
Professional footballers' trade union FIFPro have voiced their concern over the reports and intend to appeal to UEFA and FIFA to intervene on the matter.
FIFPro said: "Inter has demanded that the Dutch international extend his contract until 2016, but then for exactly the same total salary.
"In other words, to work a year longer without receiving any salary for it."
