Canaries boss Chris Hughton is likely to continue with Grant Holt upfront, even though the striker stormed down the tunnel after being subbed against Southampton on Wednesday evening.

Goalkeeper Mark Bunn will also keep his place as John Ruddy faces a long spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury. Harry Kane and Russell Martin are also injury doubts for the match.

Martin O'Neill's side have won just one match in their last five and find themselves only one point clear of the relegation zone.

The Black Cats will be without Lee Cattermole, who could be out for a while with a knee injury. Jack Colback is expected to replace him alongside Craig Gardner in midfield.

John O'Shea is a doubt for the game with a calf injury, while Wes Brown remains sidelined with the same problem and has yet to play a game this season.

James McClean impressed in midweek and will be pushing for a start ahead of Adam Johnson, but O'Neill is expected to field the same team that ran out against QPR on Tuesday.
