Hernandez: Ruled out

Record Swansea signing Pablo Hernandez has been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium with a thigh injury.

Hernandez, who joined for £5.55million, sustained the injury in the 3-1 midweek win over West Brom and is set to be replaced by Jonathan de Guzman.

Chico Flores could return from his shoulder injury but will undergo a late assessment while Danny Graham won't be risked having only recently recovered from illness.

The Gunners will hand late fitness tests to Theo Walcott (ankle) and Lukas Podolski (virus).

Meanwhile, centre-back Laurent Koscielny suffered a groin strain in the 1-1 draw with Everton on Wednesday night, and manager Arsene Wenger revealed on Thursday he was likely to be out for three weeks.

Abou Diaby (thigh) and Andre Santos (stomach muscle) continue their long-term rehabilitations.

Wenger's side are coming off the back of two draws which has raised the question whether they have enough cutting edge to challenge for a UEFA Champions League place.

Certainly a title shot is highly optimistic with the north Londoners five points adrift of the top four.

The Swans are unbeaten in November which could make for a very interesting encounter with both teams preferring to play an attractive passing brand of football as well as the fact that the Gunners have a poor home record and Swansea an equally poor away record.
