The Reds have bounced back from their early season slump and are currently unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions.

That run has hoisted the side to 11th in the Premier League while also leaving them on the cusp of qualifying for the Europa League last-32.

Much of their recent turn-around is down to the form of star striker Luis Suarez, and while Rodgers is desperate to find support for the Uruguay international, he admits there may be certain roadblocks in terms of his transfer kitty in the New Year.

"If we can get in the quality in the final third we need to support what we have, then there will be enough to keep the team moving forward," said Rodgers.

"But I am not so sure that will happen in January. This year the club wanted to balance the books and see where we are at.

"There has been big investment in the club and lots of players went out and a few came in during the summer, so we will look to do some business.

"But it is a thing which is evolving more slowly. The team is coming together and I can see improvement all the time."
