QPR have been in the spotlight since the dismissal of Mark Hughes after the Welsh tactician failed to win a single Premier League game this season.

Redknapp took the reins shortly before the Hoops faced Manchester United over the weekend and this will be his first opportunity to be in the dugout.

He will have Park Ji-sung available to captain the side, while Jose Bosingwa has reportedly recovered from a virus that prevented him from playing in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

However, Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson remain sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Black Cats aren't much better off than their midweek visitors as they've won just two league games this season, and only once at home.

With next week marking the one-year anniversary of Martin O'Neill's appointment at the Stadium of Light, the Irishman will hope to have a home win to celebrate.

O'Neill will have to cope without Lee Cattermole and John O'Shea, though, who are out with injuries sustained in the 4-2 defeat to West Brom last time out.

The Wearsiders will also want to win against the struggling Rs with a tough stretch of fixtures approaching.

Their next game is against Norwich, after which they will face United and Chelsea in quick succession next month.

For QPR, Aston Villa's trip to Loftus Road follows, before the basement outfit head to Wigan Athletic.
