Betis currently lie sixth in the Primera Division, seven points behind this weekend's visitors. Pepe Mel knows his side will have it all to do against last season's champions if they want to stay ahead of city rivals Sevilla.

Los Verdiblancos are set to welcome back striker Jonathan Pereira, but are without Paulao and Ruben Perez through injury and suspension respectively. Defender Mario, meanwhile, has been ruled out for a month with a calf injury.

Betis haven't beaten Madrid since 2008 and have lost their last four against the Castillan giants.

Los Merengues are looking for their sixth consecutive league win as they play catch-up in the race for the title.

Madrid struggled for form earlier in the season and currently find themselves eight points adrift from bitter rivals Barca, meaning a win this weekend will be of utmost importance with the Madrid derby against second-placed Atletico on the horizon.

Mesut Ozil was an unused substitute in the midweek Champions League draw against Manchester City and should return to the line-up this Saturday. In-form Frenchman Karim Benzema, meanwhile, is set to continue up front, with Gonzalo Higuain still recovering from his hamstring problem.
