Spurs had pushed the self-destruct button against the Gunners as Emmanuel Adebayor's red card inspired Arsene Wenger's men back from 1-0 down to record a 5-2 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Andre Villas-Boas's charges were most recently held to a goalless draw against Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday, a result that means the side now need to avoid defeat in their final group clash to progress to the last-32.

The Hammers, meanwhile, have been one of the surprise packets this season following their promotion from the Championship last term.

Sam Allardyce's side currently seventh in the standings, one point behind the final European qualifying position with a third of the campaign already completed.

The Iron are also undefeated in their last three Premier League outings, winning one and drawing two, which included a goalless stalemate against defending champions and current leaders Manchester City.

In team news, Adebayor begins his three-match ban following his red against the Gunners, meaning Jermain Defoe is set for a rare start.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will also be hoping to make up for shipping five goals last weekend, although he was in inspired form in Europe as he finally begins to pry Brad Friedel out of the first-choice slot.

Moussa Dembele is also set to retain his role in the starting XI after returning from injury in midweek, while Scott Parker returned to training this week but might not be risked.

For West Ham, Yossi Benayoun (knee) is a doubt, but Modibo Maiga and Gary O'Neil will be raring to go after impressing in the 1-1 draw against Stoke last time out.

However, Matt Jarvis (hip) remains a long-term casualty.
