City face Real Madrid in a must-win Champions League game at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, and Tevez believes they need to pull together if they are to retain their slim hopes of progressing past the group stages.
"It is all about the team working together as a whole," Tevez told ESPN. "I wouldn't want to put added pressure on myself to think I am going to make the difference.
"If we really want to take this game forward and grab it by the scruff of the neck, it has got to be a group effort."
The Argentinean, who scored in City's 5-0 win against Aston Villa on the weekend, said he has become much happier after changing his approach to life in Manchester.
"I have changed my outlook on life in general," he said. "A very important factor is the fact I have all my family here in Manchester, which makes me very happy.
"I am not worrying about the things I used to worry about. I am just concentrating on enjoying my time out on the field. My concerns, the things I concentrate on at the moment, are training and playing."
Tevez was suspended by the Manchester club, and jetted off to Argentina, in 2011, after he refused to warm up in a Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich.
Tevez returned to training in February 2012, in time to help City win their first Premier League title in 44 years.
