The big-spending Parisians were embarrassed by a nine-man Rennes outfit, who held onto their 2-1 lead from the 34th minute, despite their numerical disadvantage.
This left Ancelotti fuming with the Italian even going as far as proclaiming that his team 'are in a crisis.'
"It is unbelievable. Our attitude out there was not good," he told Ligue 1's official website.
"We have just lost two games at home and that is unacceptable for a team that wants to win the league. We are yet playing as a team and we are going through a bad spell.
"We have to change things and I am going to change things. We need to be more concentrated, more determined and harder. It is not right.
"We need speed and intensity. I am not scared to say it; we are in a crisis.
"We have to emerge from it quickly. If we show character and professionalism we will pull through."
Les Parisiens clash with Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Ancelotti's side are second in Group A with nine points from four matches and victory against Kiev will ensure their qualification to the knockout stages of Europe's premier club competition.
