The Potters who were defeated 1-0 by Norwich last time out, have not won a match since beating Swansea 2-0 in September, their poor run of results leaving them languishing in 15th spot with just nine points.
QPR, though, remain just one of two teams without a win all season, the other side being Reading, and the Hoops currently occupy 19th place with just four points.
They are a team with great quality though so you sense it will not be too long before they begin to turn their season around.
Rangers did manage to draw 1-1 with Reading in their last encounter, after a narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal away from home.
Stoke boss Tony will have to overcome Mark Hughes' side without Rory Delap as he prepares for a hernia operation while Michael Owen remains sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Marc Wilson is, meanwhile, unavailable until February after fracturing his left fibula.
