The Bavarians dispatched Lille 6-1 on Wednesday night in their UEFA Champions League Group F clash at Fußball Arena, Munchen.

There were goals from Bastian Schweinsteiger, Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos, but it was Claudio Pizarro's hat-trick that stole the show.

Pizarro rejoined Bayern over the off-season, and Heynckes believes the Peruvian has added another key component to Munich's strike-force alongside Mario Mandzukic and Mario Gomez.

"This performance will only fuel the euphoria, but I think you have to put this match into perspective. Our first-half performance was outstanding and very fluent," Heynckes said following the midweek triumph.

"We scored great goals, including two free-kicks. However, you also have to take into consideration that our opponents weren't really all there today.

"Pizarro was signed as an additional option in attack. We have learned from our mistakes from last season. We were missing these alternatives against Chelsea in the final, but now we have a much bigger squad that's packed with quality.

"Mandzukic got ill shortly before the game. I also decided to bench Toni Kroos, despite his superb performance at the weekend. I think that if he keeps going the way he has been, he cannot only become a good player, but a world-class player.

"At half-time I told the team that we deserved to have a five-goal lead thanks to our superb performance. We wanted to continue playing with a lot of focus and avoid conceding any goals and, if possible, score more ourselves."
