The 29-year-old midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from his hometown club during the off-season after Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini admitted they were willing to entertain offers for the fan favourite.

It caused an uproar amongst supporters, and De Rossi was left to make a public declaration of his commitment to the Eternal City outfit, where the Italy international has spent his entire career.

However, six months on and his future is once again the subject of conjecture after the Serie A team's director general Franco Baldini revealed they were once again ready to listen to offers for their vice-captain, who still has more than four years left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Manchester City will no doubt have been put on red alert as they saw a bid rejected for De Rossi during the recent transfer window, while PSG and Real Madrid have also been accredited with an interest in the player.

And Ibrahimovic would welcome a move for the highly-rated Italian, whom the striker reckons would only improve Carlo Ancelotti's side.

"I think he would be a good fit for any team because he is a strong player," the Sweden international told the media.

"I hope that he does come here so that he can give us a big helping hand - that way we would become even stronger."
