Barcelona forward Ibrahim Afellay's stint in Germany could become a long-term one, claims Schalke general manager Horst Heldt.

Having arrived in Spain from PSV Eindhoven in December 2010, Afellay struggled to cement a starting spot with the Catalans.
The 26-year-old has managed just 20 appearances in all competitions for the Blaugrana.
But an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during training in September 2011 sidelined the Holland international for more than seven months.
Still not guaranteed regular game-time under new Barca coach Tito Vilanova, Afellay grasped the season-long loan with Huub Stevens' side with both hands.
And with four goals in all competitions for the Miners this term, he could earn himself a permanent switch to the Bundesliga outfit.
"Will we keep him after the season? If his performances remain as good, then there is a good chance," Heldt told Bild.
