Jarvis moved to Upton Park from Wolves for a club-record fee of £10.75million. His persistent and direct attacking style convinced Hammers manager Sam Allardyce he is worth smashing the bank for.
Two seasons ago, he was the player with the most crosses made as well as the most successful crosses delivered and this, coupled with the aerial prowess of Andy Carroll, will strike fear into the hearts of Premier League defenders should the striker find his goalscoring touch.
And Roy Hodgson might be tempted to pair the two Irons team-mates together in his Three Lions team should he opt for a more direct style of play.
Jarvis, meanwhile, is keeping his head down and is more than willing to work his socks off to force Hodgson's hand.
"Obviously, I just need to keep playing well for West Ham and see where that takes me. If I keep doing well then you never know," the 26-year-old said.
"I got one cap against Ghana so I'm always hungry to get more and I'll be working extremely hard to give myself the best opportunity.
"You've just got to be strong as a person and make sure that you're working extremely hard day in, day out and you've still got the desire to go and show everyone what you can do and get yourself back in the squad."
