The Dutch striker needed to be substituted during the 2014 World Cup qualifier in midweek, although national team coach Louis van Gaal has moved to allay any fears of a lengthy spell out for the prolific forward.
"It does not seem to be too serious, but we did not want to take any risks," van Gaal told Dutch broadcaster SBS6.
Van Persie has already made himself an invaluable part of the Red Devils set-up following his £24million move from Arsenal in the summer, with the hitman having already slammed home four goals in his first three games for the Old Trafford outfit.
