Richard Henyekane put the hosts ahead in the 51st minute before Bongani Zungu restored parity for the visitors on the hour mark to earn them a point.

The result sees Sundowns move up to 11th place on 28 points, four behind Clive Barker's side in eighth.

The two teams struggled to get a grip on the game in the early stages but Downs eventually carved out the first chance when Henyekane lost his marker on the edge of the area but couldn't steer his effort on target.

The hosts then had the ball in the back of the net just before half-time after Washington Arubi could only palm Edward Manqele's shot into the path of Wayne Arendse, however, his effort was disallowed for off-side.

After the break, the Brazilians looked the better side and took the lead just six minutes into the second half, Henyekane slotting home after Manqele's miss-kick fell kindly to the striker.

AmaTuks, though, rallied well and would eventually level matters shortly after the hour mark through Zungu, who took advantage of some poor play by Jabulani Shongwe to make it 1-1.

The Pretoria outfit should have snatched it late on, Zungu this time turning provider as he laid off a fine pass to Aubrey Ngoma whose effort was excellently saved by Wayne Sandilands.
