Wycliffe Ochomo scored what proved to be the important goal last Sunday to start their season off with a bang.
Ali was impressed with his side's display in the opener and expects more of the same against his former employers on Friday.
"We played our first match very well, though definitely there had to be one or two mistakes, which is normal. It was important to get the win and start on a good footing," Ali told the club's official website.
"I must congratulate Jacktone Odhiambo and his defence line for ensuring we never conceded. That was positive. The entire team played well and the confidence is slowly getting into the players because last season the performance was not very good.
"The team is adapting to a different style of play and so far they are doing very good because everybody is willing to learn. The only thing we will focus on ahead of the Sofapaka match is ensuring we have a positive attitude towards the match and that means more attacking play.
"Sofapaka is a different team and we will have a different strategy for that match but we must ensure we increase our attacking exploits."
