De Sa: Has work to do

Roger de Sa was left less than impressed with some of Orlando Pirates' 'silly mistakes' as they surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Moroka Swallows on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers found themselves two-goals to the good after 37 minutes, but a fight-back from the Dube Birds, which started right on the stroke of half-time, earned Zeca Marques' men the points.

Speaking after the game De Sa said: "I thought at 2-0 up we had the game wrapped up, but then obviously they (Swallows) got back in and we should have killed the game off long ago."

The result marked the Sea Robbers' second successive defeat following their shock Nedbank Cup loss to Maluti FET College on Saturday, and De Sa admitted his side needed a quick wake-up call this season.

"Tonight was a bit of a footballer thriller, but we should have bounced back, but we made some silly mistakes and there's nothing we can do about that now," he said. "We have to be better throughout the game, and we can't just give it away."

The match was also filled with plenty of questionable decisions made by referee Phillip Tinyani, which De Sa made sure to point out.

"I think anybody who saw some of the decisions from the ref today (last night) knows that it wasn't of the greatest standards.

"If he was a player, I would have subbed him off after ten minutes," he concluded.
