Stars midfielder Robert N'gambi scored the only goal of the game, around the 15 minute mark, after captain Henrico Botes' penalty kick was blocked by the goalkeeper and the Mozambican reacted quickest to tuck it away.

Dikwena coach Cavin Johnson rested eight of his regular players and was pleased with the result but lamented the state of the turf.

"It was a tough game, a typical cup match where little freedom was given and the opponents came hard at us," Johnson told Football411.com

"We had to fight for this and well, we got the win and we're happy.

"But the pitch was terrible. It is one of the worst fields I've seen and it stopped us, in fact both sides, from playing a decent passing game. That made the game scrappy.

"We're through to the next round and that is what matters now, we've got another game and another chance. Who we face does not matter, PSL or NFD or second division, we have to prepare for whomever."
