Although Stars are in good form in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) they only beat Spurs 1-0 courtesy of a strike by midfielder Coldrin Coetzee.

Stars goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene hardly made a save during the first half while his counterpart was busy, however, he could not stop Coetzee's 32nd minute scorcher.

Despite their better possession and creating scoring chances, the hosts were able to add to their tally and during the second half coasted through the match.

Togo international striker Dove Wome could have doubled the lead for Stars but shot horribly wide in the 81st minute to the dismay of the partisan crowd and coach Steve Komphela.

"We didn't play well, but we'll wait for the next team and we hope to improve in terms of performance," said Stars coach Komphela.

"In terms of the result, we're happy, and we'll wait and see who we get next."
