Ghana international John Paintsil has been released on bail following his arrest over allegations he attacked his wife.

The former Fulham, West Ham and Leicester City defender spent Friday night in prison after police were called to his Accra house after he had reportedly assaulted his wife and neighbour.
Ghana police spokesman Freeman Tetty said: "He (Paintsil) had a confrontation with his wife and it ended with a blow.
"The wife had a deep cut on the upper eyelid. She ran to a neighbour's house and Paintsil also rushed to the neighbour and gave the neighbour a few slaps and threatened to kill the neighbour."
Paintsil has since been allowed to leave on bail, although Tetty would not divulge the amount paid in bond.
The defender was most recently in action for the Black Stars at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa, where the side finished the tournament in fourth.
