The Nedbank Cup is known to cause major upsets as so-called smaller teams knock out the bigger teams from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) elite league and Stars coach Steve Komphela is advising his players that they must not be too confident ahead of their clash with Spurs.

Stars are a team on form as they sit fourth on the PSL standings, this year they beat Chippa United 3-0, took the lead against Kaizer Chiefs but eventually lost 2-1 and bounced back against Maritzburg United with a 1-0 victory.

Spurs are eighth on the NFD table with only five victories in 11 games played and should not be a match for Stars who at home are ruthless.

"The fixtures are coming in thick and fast. We just need to find a way of how we immediately take stock of finding who is injured and suspended going into the weekend's match," he told the club website.

"It's going to be difficult, with the knowledge of how the First Division sides come here having ambition to cause an upset, but we just need to be strong and look forward to the game.

"I say again be very wary of these minnows we have seen in the past how they cause upset to some of the PSL teams so we are going there very cautious and going there to enjoy ourselves and move on to the next phase of the competition."

Ea Lla Koto have no serious injuries and only striker Paulus Masehe (suspension) is out for this game, the Witbank club has no suspensions or injuries.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
