Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident they have the skillful players who can make things happen in attack, which is what he wants.

Sundowns playmaker Teko Modise, Mozambican winger Elias Pelembe, Liberian midfielder Anthony Laffor and Bafana striker Katlego Mphela are known for their imperious talents and their coach hopes they will demonstrate this in Cape Town.

Sundowns face Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup, which is of paramount importance to both sides who have no hope of capturing a Premier Soccer League league title this term.

The Urban Warriors are under pressure in the PSL, languishing in the relegation zone with 17 points from 19 games, while Sundowns are not entirely comfortable, but have 23 points from the same amount of matches played.

The Nedbank Cup offers both clubs a reprieve but the former Bafana Bafana coach knows it will be tough to go all the way, especially against Ajax.

"We are playing against a Premiership team, so we need to concentrate a little bit, come down to earth and do things right. So we need to attack. We have the players to play, so let's play," Mosimane told SuperSport.

"If you ask anybody whether they think they have a chance to win the Nedbank Cup, I think they all feel there is a chance to win the trophy," he said of the Nedbank Cup title Downs last won in 2008.

"We are going for it. You never know what is going to happen, it's a cup game and we all know cup games are totally different.

"The team is playing well, we play home and away, we dominate, so that's all you need.

"You need to dominate so that you can score and you can only score when you have the ball. You can't score when you are sitting back and you don't have the ball."

Mosimane has a few injury concerns ahead of the clash as Laffor, Modise, defender Method Mwanjale and midfielder Jabulani Shongwe are nursing knocks picked up in the previous game.

They all are expected to be fit and ready for this clash taking place at the Athlone Stadium, kickoff is at 8pm.
