Bloemfontein Celtic in fact was leading until Wanderson came off the bench to score the equaliser in game where the hosts scored first through Mabhuti Khanyeza.

In the second half, the striker could have doubled the lead after winning a penalty but then sent his shot wide of the goalmouth.

Celtic clawed their way back in the match through Lerato Manzini and Ruzaigh Gamildien, and looked set for their first victory in the Mother City after nine years, but the individual brilliance of Wanderson undone their good work.

Versleijen advised the media that despite Wanderson's talent he still has to learn to be a team player.

"We are not panicking and don't play panic football, we will stick to our plan," Versleijen told the press after the match.

"That's what he can do; he can make a goal out of nothing. But he has to combine that talent with working for the team. He had the ball on two occasions where he should have played it but instead he went alone."

He added: "So he has to get that understanding of when to make a pass."

The coach then defended his decision to bench Matthew Booth, Nazeer Allie and Granwald Scott in the previous matches against Moroka Swallows and Platinum Stars, which they drew and lost respectively.

"This is our third game in seven days and some of the youngsters can't deal with that, and also I have 24 players in my squad so I will use them all if necessary," Versleijen said.

"We needed Booth tonight and he did very well against Celtic who like to cross the ball in, using their wingers. So he did a good job there."
